Oooooooh, remember that lovely goldy/green hat from a few weeks ago? Yeah, so I actually finished it and took it to the beach for a photoshoot earlier this week. But I use the word 'finish' loosely here, because then I spent yesterday doing something spiffy to it. I have a plan. A fluid plan to be sure, but a plan none the less. So I mean yes, working these straight up and down is lovely and tidy and orderly. And I think the very first time you do it, you should probably go with the straight version, because it's the simplest. But once you've played with it just a tiny tiny bit, and you see how easy it is, I highly recommend you try the offset version. It's kind of spiffy. Ok, I admit the stripe does actually lend it a fair amount of charm. But you know me, and so you know we're not done yet. We are, in fact, just getting started. I just want it on the record that this next bit is enough fun that it got me to plow through a (very nearly) plain stockinette hat in absolutely record time and with much less whinging than is traditional.
