Wired
Oh, oh I found the right wire and the right way to put it in the bacon. Did I expect to say this sentence? No. Do I stand by it? Oh yes! I mean really, look at that. Same yarn, same needles, same stitches, same knitter. Just one has wire run around it and the other doesn't. And yes, I had tried it with a lighter (softer) wire before, but it didn't have quite the heft I wanted. But this...well this is just about perfect! Posy
The Posy book is out. Which means you, too, can spend the afternoon playing with coffee filters and dye and making the prettiest little paper flowers you ever did see. I have, as of this typing, exactly five of the Noteworthy kits left. When we did the kits for these, I kept a handful of them back (just in case I did something wrong in packing them or in case something exciting happened in the mail). Crispy
I like my bacon crispy, so perhaps it's no surprise I prefer my knitted bacon with a bit of extra substance. But since keeping the yarn in the pan for a few more minutes doesn't seem to do much, getting crispy knitted bacon required a slightly different approach. Mending with…stickers?
Let's mend my jacket! I have had this down jacket since 2017. It's bright pink…I'm a fat person… Do you know how unusual it is to find winter stuff in cool colors as a fat person? I intend to keep this jacket in rotation as long as I possibly can. But it has a hole. So I'm going to fix it! Now normally I would fix a hole with needle and thread. But the kind of fabric used for jackets like this can be tricky to sew. But they make these cool little patch kits which are basically fancy stickers. [...]
Pretty Colors
These look less and less like coffee filters as we go! We talked about cutting them into fancy shapes, now let's make them pretty colors. You can dye your filters with either alcohol inks or alcohol ink based markers. Both work, both look great, both are fun.
