If you combine the inexplicable urge to fill my whole tree with stuff I've made this year, the box of buttons I found on the side of the road this fall, and an icord machine you get...a button garland. The gist in blocking anything (snowmen hats, people hats, or most anything else you can think of) is 'get it absolutely thoroughly soaked, wiggle it into shape, let it dry.' (Very nearly all of) the gauge card sets have been sent on their way, hurtling through the mail system. They went out Monday, and they should start arriving in mailboxes near you any day now. A couple of super local folks may even have already gotten theirs. A few of the second round (the ones that weren't supposed to hit the mail until the 10th) are going out in a day or two, but it actually looks like pretty much all of these should all be on the way well ahead of schedule!
