Permutation is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. This is, as far as I can recall, the only proper colorwork I've ever done (usually I limit myself to the stuff where you work with one color per row and manage everything else through delightfully sneaky slipped stitches). That's mostly because asking me to keep track of two yarns per row is almost certain to end in bloodshed or tears (not necessarily mine). But this is so damn nifty that I just couldn't help myself. Did it convert me to a colorwork fan? Nope. [...]
Shades
New plan. The orange and the yellow are not allowed to be in the same project unless I want to knit in sunglasses. Which I very much do not. So we're going to try something a bit more mellow. Where by mellow, I mean 'only slightly alarming.' Meep. Just so we've got it here at the very beginning, orange is Madeline Tosh's Mo Light base in Push Pop, white is Malabrigo's Rios base in Natural.

Penchant is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. This is what happens when you have so much fun with hat one that you do not want to stop. But then you also do not want to actually knit the exact same thing a second time. So you tweak just a few very tiny things and somehow get a marvelously different end result. It's also the piece of knitting that had me saying zooooooooooom and swooooooooooszh and vwoooooooooop basically non stop as the swoopy lines on it revealed themselves. Which probably won't happen to [...]
Searing
So, it seems I live in one of those places where people occasionally shoot things in the woods. I am not particularly thrilled by this, as I occasionally am a thing in the woods, and I would very very much prefer not to be shot. And somehow, instead of saying 'be super duper extra careful that you're not shooting the wrong thing by accident' we have collectively decided to say 'wear eye-searing orange so you don't get shot.' Now I am not particularly thrilled by this either (I staunchly maintain that it is the responsibility of the person with the [...]

Exigencies is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Do I expect you to make it in these colors? No. No I do not. I expect that you have infinitely better taste and a much more developed fashion sense. But I was making them for a baby. And you can put basically anything on a baby's head and it's adorable (plus they're a baby, they can't fight back very well yet). So I embraced my inner chaos muppet and went a little outside my usual color palette. You can do something all tasteful and sedate [...]

Circumvolute is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Do you ever fall prey to the charms of a speckled yarn only to get it home and not actually know what to do with it (this is the part where it would be kind of you to say 'why yes, yes of course, you are not the only one with this difficulty')? Well so here's what you do. You give it plenty of plain stockinette (speckled yarn looks amazing on stockinette). You do not make it argue with lace (speckled yarn hates holes). If [...]
Unrepentant
Still amused by this nonsense? Yes. Feel bad about that? No. Can you share this unrepentant glee? Sure! Remember, if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone else, go for it. We could all use a little extra joy right now.

Smashing is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Sometimes you have to have just a tiny bit of faith that your knitting will come out right in the end, even if it looks really funny in the middle. This is totally one of those times. While you knit this, you will absolutely wonder if I've done something dreadful and am leading you astray. I'm not (and I do take a bit of extra time in the pattern to try and reassure you that I have not actually played a sneaky trick on you). [...]

Pelagic is on sale for 25% off on ravelry or payhip with the code COUNTDOWN. Look I have a weakness. Well, several of them really. But one of them in particular is that if I have just a liiiiiiiittle bit of yarn left when I finish a hat, I absolutely cannot stop myself from making tiny little wrist warmers to go with it. Now, some people do not see the appeal of these. Which is fine, you can totally just make the hat. But I'm going to encourage you to make wrist warmers at some point. They're ridiculously quick. They [...]
